The weather is getting colder by the minute but many of us are gearing up for all of our favorite outdoor activities. Given all of our usual indoor winter festivities are not happening, I imagine there’s going to be a lot more people opting outside this winter. We are so excited to spend our first winter in Vermont, and whenever anyone asks me about living in New England in the winter, my response is always the same, if you have the right gear it’s a lot of fun! From snowy walks, to days on the mountain snowboarding and snowshoeing on your favorite trail, there are tons of great gear options from Backcountry. These are some of my favorite accessories and gear with tons of gifts ideas for the active outdoor enthusiast on your list. Neckwarmer

I just discovered this brand SKIDA on Backcountry and it’s so awesome! Their neckwarmers are actually made in Vermont and come in tons of fun prints for women, men and kids. The outside is a windproof material and it’s lined with a super soft fleece. Perfect for winter walks, days on the mountain and any cold weather activities.

Patagonia Gloves

My search for a warm winter glove is finally over! I was looking for a glove that I could wear on walks, driving etc., that keep my hands warm and these are great. I have super small hands so went with an xs. If you’re looking for a snow day, mountain option I wear these snowboarding. These gloves would also make great liner for snowboarding/skiing gloves or mittens.

Oakley Prism Goggles

Having a good pair of goggles is essential for days on the moutain, cross country skiing, snowshoeing etc. The Oakley Prism Goggles have an anti-fog coating and technology to provide better clarity in changing snow conditions so you can see better going down the mountain.

Smartwool Socks

I pretty much live in Smartwool socks from now until spring. They keep your feet super toasty and warm without getting sweaty. They also make tons of great styles with different thickness for everyday or more extreme weather conditions.

Craig’s Pick: CamelBak 5L Backpack

I actually got this for Craig last year for Christmas (per his recommendation) and he loves it. He always brings it with him for mountain biking and said it’s perfect because it holds enough water to stay hydrated but not too much that you feel like it’s weighing you down.

Men’s Work Gloves

These were a birthday present for Craig this year (that I gave to him a little early) and he is very happy. He said they’re the warmest gloves he owns and while I didn’t think they would be for the mountain he said he’d definitely wear them snowboarding.

Bicycle Repair Stand

This is a little bit of a niche gift (and a bigger ticket item) but I got it for Craig last year for Christmas and he LOVES it. If you have a mountain biker, cyclist on your list this is pretty much as good as it gets. It’s a pro-level work stand but collapsible to fit in small spaces. If you have someone on your list that is always working on their bike (doesn’t every avid biker constantly work on their bike?!) this is an awesome gift.

Patagonia Baselayer

Patagonia Baselayer

A good warm baselayer is so important for staying cozy and dry in cold weather. I have a few pairs to get me through the winter and I love these from Patagonia. The perfect layer under snow pants or even a regular pair of pants for added warmth.

Hyperice Vibrating Massage Ball

Hyperice Vibrating Massage Ball

If there’s anyone on your list that struggles with back pain and/or tightness this makes a great gift, especially for on the go. I originally got this for Craig to use when we travel (great for the plane or the car). We aren’t going anywhere far these days but he still uses this at home a ton for sore muscles and knots.
