Welcome to our kitchen
Our kitchen has been through quite a transformation (check out our before and after, below!). We’ve gone through several phases of upgrades, and slowly but surely ended up with the kitchen of our dreams. The greenish blue cabinet color adds so much character and charm to the space, it’s one of our favorite design decisions.
Our cozy open concept living room
Our home is fairly open with the living room, dining room and kitchen all in one space. We wanted the living room to feel cozy and separate but also compliment the rest of the layout at the same time. We updated the room in stages and recently decided to switch up the furniture a bit to create a bit more space in what is already a small area. We also DIYed a plaster fireplace surround and installed reclaimed wood as a mantle which gives the space the kind of character we love to add when possible.
Open and airy dining room
We kept it simple in our dining room and made the focus around the gallery wall. We also replaced the old bannister with a built in bookcase and put in all new trim. You can see more of the changes and details including paint colors below.

Welcome to our master bedroom
Another room that went through a few phases, I love how our most recent mini makeover of the space turned out (see below). We don’t have a lot of storage space throughout the house (two closets total) so we decided to nix the open shelving and add dressers which gave us a lot more room for linens, towels and clothes without feeling cluttered.
Our outdoor space and garden
Because our house is small (approx 1500 sq ft if you include the basement) we wanted our outdoor space to feel like an extension of the indoors. Craig built a mahogany deck and custom pergola for privacy. We also have a vegetable garden and lots of different flowers, trees and bushes planted around the yard. Check out our Cozy Ranch Instagram Highlights below to see the process of building the deck and pergola.
Gender Neutral Nursery
We wanted to be surprised so we didn’t find out Marin was a girl until she was born, which meant we needed a neutral nursery. I love this cozy and bright space that is a bit of a blank canvas so it can change and evolve as Marin gets older.
