My Morning and Night Skincare Routine

It’s been a while since I’ve shared my full morning and night skincare routine so I thought it would be a good time, especially because I really love the products I’m using right now. My skin has been pretty happy lately, even with brutal winter temperatures and dry indoor heat. I think being able to get facials again really helps too. I love doing a multi-step routine because it’s a relaxing ritual for me. If you want to keep your skin routine super simple and easy, I highly recommend my skincare kit with Follain. It’s back for a limited time. In the morning I’d swap the mask for sunscreen and at night use the kit as your full routine. You can also get 15% off your first Follain purchase with my code JESSANNKIRBY. For the skincare treatments I like check out this post.

Morning Skincare Routine

Cleanser: The Farmaesthetics Fine Herbal Cleanser is one of my favorite clean beauty products of all time. Every time I try to switch it up with a cleanser I end up right back with this. It just can’t be beat for getting that really nice clean feeling without stripping. It smells incredible. It’s really gentle and does a great job at removing makeup. I love it in the morning because the smell is a nice pick-me-up.

Toner: I discovered this facial spray from Tower28 Beauty last year and I love it. It doesn’t really have a scent but it’s super hydrating and does a great job at prepping the skin for products. If you have really dry or sensitive skin you could skip washing in the morning and use this with a reusable cotton pad.

Eye Cream: There’s a reason I wanted this eye cream in my Follain skincare kit! It smooths, depuffs, brightens and feels so good on the skin. It has a lightweight almost gel-like consistency and is great under makeup.

Serum: I think this serum has been a game changer for my skincare routine. It’s phenomenal on its own, but studies have shown that combining vitamin C serum and broad-spectrum sunscreen is more effective at neutralizing free radical damage from sun exposure than just using sunscreen alone. This formula from Follain is lightweight, hydrating, absorbs well and doesn’t feel sticky. It’s why I included it in my skincare kit!

Moisturizer: This illuminating moisturizer from Tata Harper is a splurge for me but I absolutely love it. My esthetician used it during my Tata Harper facial at the Woodstock Inn and my skin was so glowy afterwards I couldn’t get over it. I love it for my morning skincare routine, but if you’re looking for something a bit less expensive I also love Indie Lee’s Brightening Cream.

Sunscreen: If I’m not going to have a lot of sun exposure I love Saie Sunvisor. If I’m going to be out in the sun I use SuperGoop Mineral SheerScreen and then Saie Sunvisor on top.

Night Skincare Routine

Cleanser: At night I typically do a double cleanse especially if I’ve been wearing makeup. I start with Farmaesthetics Fine Herbal Cleanser and then rinse with my holy grail Naturopathica Manuka Honey Cleansing Balm. This is a splurgier product but is 100% worth it for me. It helps clear up so many skin issues for me from breakouts to dryness to irritation.

Toner: I’ve used Indie Lee COQ-10 Toner for years and it does not disappoint. Still love it and use it everyday. It cleans and tones without stripping or drying out your skin.

Serum: I was using Herbivore Bakuchiol Serum for a long time and it has sadly been discontinued. I have one bottle left that I plan to use and then I’ll probably stick to Follain Vitamin C serum and alterntive with my treatment serums like Farmacy Honeymoon Glow.

Eye Cream: At night I like Biossance Marine Algae Eye Cream because it’s so creamy and hydrating. A little goes a long way and this jar lasts a long time.

Moisturizer: I’ve actually been using mostly overnight masks in lieu of a moisturizer at night. Our house is so dry my skin soaks products right up. My two favorites are the Follain Hydrating Mask and the Farmacy 10% Niacinamide Mask.

Oil: I only use oil at night but I really like the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. This definitely leaves my skin more hydrated and glowing when I wake up. I apply this right over the Follain or Farmacy mask.
