My Favorite Basic Tees

This question comes up a lot and it popped up several times over the weekend on IG…What are your favorite basic tees? They’re such an easy wardrobe staple to throw on and go. Style them with jeans, trousers, layer under a sweater or blazer. I love a classic tee and jeans with sneakers or sandals. Simple and chic, but most importantly, comfortable. As the weather warms up I’m reaching for tees whether I’m getting dressed for work or headed out for a walk. Here are a few of my favorite basic tees to style all spring and summer.

ABLE Maria Boxy Tee

I tried on this tee when I visited ABLE’s HQ last month in Nashville and I knew it was going to be a favorite for spring and summer. It’s made in a super soft organic cotton and is available is XXS-3X. It’s a slightly boxy, cropped style which makes it really cute with mid-rise or high-rise pants. It’s not too cropped so you can still tuck it in if you prefer. The fabric is thick which makes it a nice tee to dress up with a classic blazer or wear it casual with jeans and sneakers. Sézane Conrad Tee

I still have the conrad tee I bought several years ago when the style came out and it just gets better with every wash. The conrad tee is made with 100% organic cotton in a loose but not baggy fit. It’s soft and stretchy with a crew neckline AND one of my favorite parts, it comes with free embroidery up to 10 characters. I had one embroidered with “marin.” There are lots of pretty colors to choose from whether you want something bright, vintage looking or classic. I’ve sized down and gone with my regular size in this tee. It’s very slightly oversized.

Amour Vert Long Sleeve Dream Knit Tee

I admit I have a lot of striped tees. As someone who doesn’t wear a ton of prints or bold colors I think stripes are my way to add a little something to an outfit. And they’re just so chic. This long sleeve tee is a year round style in a relaxed fit with super soft fabric. Pair it with jeans or trousers. I love the Marine Stripe.

Faherty Cloud Henley

Soft and thick but not too heavy this is one of my favorite long sleeve tees for right now. Made in a cotton/modal blend, it has a pretty button detail and relaxed silhouette making it chic but so comfortable. This style fits true to size.
