It has been a week. In addition to everything going on with reproductive rights, we’ve had daycare closures and illnesses, and honestly I’m pretty fried. The forecast next week looks amazing and it’s about the only thing saving my mental health at the moment. We have some fun plans for the weekend too and I’m looking forward to getting out of the house and out of my head, you know what I mean?! Sending love to all of you, and take care of yourselves.

If you’re looking for something to buy, try, read, share or pin, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of the week…

Here are some resources to help you understand what’s going on with Roe v. Wade:

In other news…

Jane Fonda is such a badass.

Today only get 10% off sitewide at ChappyWrap (my favorite blankets) and 10% of proceeds will be donated to the charity of my choice, MLK Center in Newport, RI. ChappyWrap is also donating 250 blankets to the MLK Center on my behalf.

This was interesting, women naming their babies after themselves. I don’t know anyone that’s done this but I think it’s awesome.

If you’re planning a trip, The Newport Guide has been updated for summer.

Tons of personalized recommendations and easy to use on the go with a mobile-friendly design or right from your desktop.

Get 20% off summer favorites at Madewell. This exercise dress is so cute, UPF 40 protection and made with recycled polyester. These mid length relaxed denim shorts look great too.

Saie just launched concealer! I can’t wait to try it.

I finally got Marin some new clothes, mostly for summer and found some great things from Primary. It’s very affordable and made with organic cotton. The dresses are really cute and the swimwear is too. Lots of mix and match styles and great quality.

Smashed pea toasts with ricotta is a real springtime favorite.

Some good news this week! Karine Jean-Pierre will become the first Black White House Press Secretary.

Found another pair of CQY jeans in my closet that I hadn’t worn in over a year and I’ve barely taken them off. They’re on sale because it’s a style from last year. I wear a size up in the brand.

For my true crime fans, I just started Under the Banner of Heaven on Hulu (based on a non-fiction book) and it’s so good.

Thank you for putting yourself out there! I am in 100% agreement with you pretty much all the time, but I know many are not and that can be quite draining. I appreciate you using your platform to educate and address real issues!

Thank you Jess for your post on reproductive rights. I know that it takes a lot of courage to put your position out there for all to comment on. As a former employee of Planned Parenthood, I can tell you that the front line workers endure a lot of day-to-day stressors (dealing with aggressive protestors is one, also supporting women who seek services can be emotionally draining). I worked for PP for several years, in different states and can attest to the care and advocacy they provide for us all. As long as local, state, and federal politicians hear from US, and know that we support a woman’s right to choose whether or not to have a child AND that we expect them to uphold this right (and that we will be monitoring their voting records), they will listen. Politicians watch daily numbers of constituent contact with their offices. There are several advocacy organizations who help elect pro-choice politicians (Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Emily’s List, NARAL, and others). Money matters, numbers matter (calling/emailing your legislators specifically), and making our presence known matters. Thanks again Jess!
