Tarotstrology: Capricorn Season Tarotscopes

OMG ya’ll! We made it to the Zodiac season that will usher us from 2020 to 2021 – it’s here!! We made it. While we have no idea what the next year brings, I know I’m not the only one excited to see 2020 in the rearview mirror. Soon we’ll be thinking about resolutions and intentions, Capricorn season helps us not only think in terms of our evolution (Caps always be striving), but can illuminate the steps we need to take to get there.

Capricorn Season Tarotscopes

Below you’ll find a mini reading for each sign that takes into account 3 cards for your Scorpio season (December 23 – January 21):

1. The Devil
2. The Major Arcana card your sign rules
3. An intuitive pull – just like in a reading with me – for each sign

In Tarot, Capricorn rules The Devil – the 15th card of the Major Arcana. This next month or so, we are being asked to break free, examine constraints we put on ourselves, and overcome patterns that don’t serve us. This requires enough spaciousness to take an honest inventory of where we are and how we’re spending our precious energy – and that is impossible without rest.

Capricorn — Devil

Three of Cups

We all need somebody to lean on, Capricorn. How do you feel about asking for help? Or leaning on others for support? It’s not an easy thing – but this season you’re ready to expand and to do so you’ll need to call on your friends. If it helps, spend some time reflecting on how good it feels when you can support or cheerlead for your loved ones. Let them do that for you.

Capricorn rules The Devil, a card that teaches us about addiction and liberation.

Aquarius — The Star

Nine of Pentacles RX

This season is a long, deep exhale for you, Aquarius. You have had your head down focused on taking one step after another for…well, months now. It’s time to look up and around. Where has your commitment, your work, your resilience taken you? While there is a lot to grieve and lament about this year, remember to find moments of gratitude and celebration for what it took to get to this point.

Aquarius rules The Star, a card that teaches us about healing and nonconformity.

Pisces — The Moon

Two of Swords RX

It’s boundary time sweet and sensitive Pisces. You may find yourself needing extra rest, extra hydration, extra silence this season in order to detach from all the noise swirling around in your head. That’s nothing to be ashamed of. Before you set any type of new year intention, make sure you feel you can hear yourself – your heart, your intuition – clearly.

Pisces rules The Moon, a card that teaches us about our inner depths and wildness.

Aries — The Emperor

The Empress

How comfortable are you with dualities, Aries? Now’s the time for a littttttle nuance and finding a sense of balance – whatever that means to you. You may find yourself looking for more tenderness than usual and worry that this means you’ve “gone soft”. Your ambition is a beautiful thing, but in order to meet that ambition with action, you need to honor the quiet, restful seasons, too.

Aries rules The Emperor, a card that teaches us about power and personal sovereignty.

Taurus — The Hierophant

Page of Swords

Expansion is the name of the game, Taurus. You tend to be open-minded, but this season that dial is turned up to 11. You’ll be open and attracted to different ways of thinking and expressing, so lean in – especially if you’ve been feeling like you’re in an echo chamber lately. Read a book on a new topic. Play Devil’s advocate. Explore alternative viewpoints.

Taurus rules The Hierophant, a card that teaches us about truths and spiritual insight.

Gemini — The Lovers

Four Of Swords RX

It’s time to sign off, Gemini. No “one last thing”, no engaging in FOMO, no “five more minutes” – ya need a break and ya needed it yesterday! This is a clear prescription for rest – deep, disconnected, nap-the-day-away rest – but it’s also an invitation to look at the tactics you use to keep rest at arm’s length.

Gemini rules The Lovers, a card that teaches us about balance and harmony.

Cancer — The Chariot

Six of Pentacles

What would it look like to be radically generous, Cancer? Not just with cash money (although if you’re able to, please continue to be!) but across every aspect – being generous in your assumptions, generous with your knowledge, your time. Notice where you feel resistant (competitive, in lack, judgemental) and work on opening up that space.

Cancer rules The Chariot, a card that teaches us about alignment and forward momentum.

Leo — Strength

Three of Pentacles

Collaboration is queen, Leo. With the right people around you, your ideas get more clear, more vibrant. It can be scary (and vulnerable) to ask for & offer support, but it also creates strength – both in bonds with your community of collaborators and in the outcome itself. Put yourself out there! Success and growth is always sweeter when shared.

Leo rules Strength, a card that teaches us about resilience and vulnerability.

Virgo — The Hermit

King of Cups

Engage with your emotions, Virgo. You’re as practical as they come so you understand the importance of your spiritual and emotional well-being. As we wrap this year up, tend to and dream from your heart space. Set intentions around how you want to feel, not simply what you want to do. You’ll be making progress soon enough, but for now float with your feels.

Virgo rules The Hermit, a card that teaches us about going within and pacing ourselves.

Libra — Justice

The Sun

Express yourself my Libra loves! Brene Brown said “if you don’t want to burn out, stop living like you’re on fire”, but what if you lived like you were shining? This season, look for glimmers of hope, of growth, and set your sights on exactly where you want to send your beautiful sparkly energy and how you want to show up when you arrive.

Libra rules Justice, a card that teaches us about equality and, well, justice.

Scorpio — Death

The Chariot

Sometimes in order to ascend, first you have to shed, Scorpio. Change can be far-reaching – in order to get over there, you need to kiss some of the comforts where you are goodbye. Painful, yes, but you’ve got plenty of strength. Take all the time you need – from where I’m sitting there’s no deadline – but no matter how long you wait, the facts won’t change.

Scorpio rules Death, a card that teaches us about impermanence and rebirth.

Sagittarius — Temperance

Two of Pentacles

The last few months have had a new version of the same message to you my sweet Sagittarius. You’re juggling a bit too much – you only have two hands and 24 hours a day like the rest of us. This isn’t about uncovering a new productivity hack, it’s time to acknowledge and tend to your humanity. A well-resourced Sag is unstoppable and running on empty is no longer an option.

Sagittarius rules Temperance, a card that teaches us about co-creation and alchemy.

  1. Every zodiac sign is ruled by a Tarot card from the Major Arcana! The zodiac sign of Capricorn is ruled by The Devil card. Strong willed and ambitious, this sign is considered the “businessperson” of the zodiac.
