My Favorite Fall Boots

My Favorite Fall Boots

I got my first pair of Blundstones last year. They seemed like the perfect mix of versatile, practical, durable and stylish. I’m here to attest to the fact that they are all of those things. I decided to get the Blundstone Chelsea 550 from Backcountry this season because my last pair (the Blundstone high top) are still a bit stiff and now postpartum when I wear a thicker sock are too small. Pretty sure my feet grew a little when I was pregnant.

My mom got the Blundstone 550s (in dark green which I love)and said they were comfy right out of the box. That was exactly what I was looking for, so I got them in the rustic brown/mustard. They are the perfect boot for all of our favorite outdoor fall activities. They’re warm, keep my feet dry and so comfortable. Sizing can be tricky, I have narrow feet and I’m typically a 7-7.5 but went up to a size 8. They fit perfectly with the additional insole the boots come with (I tried the 7.5 and they were too small).

My Favorite Sustainable Activewear

They also clean up really well.

I’ve walked through sand, mud, wet leaves, and these boots can handle it all. They get better with every wear. I love that they’re a stylish looking boot too. They look just as good with jeans and a cozy sweater as they do with leggings and a fleece jacket. Also if you’re looking for a really warm sock, this pair from Smartwool is awesome.

Backcountry has some of my favorite outdoor brands too like Patagonia, Prana, and Smartwool. These leggings (color is Jadeite Heather size small) are from Prana and they are amazingly lightweight and warm. Side note if you’re looking for a thicker winter legging, this pair from Patagonia is awesome. I also got this Patagonia jacket last year (size large) to wear when I was pregnant and I actually really love that it’s oversized because I can wear cozy sweaters underneath. I’m wearing this one from Patagonia (size medium) that I got this season and it’s super warm (it’s also made from recycled fabrics). I got Marin this Patagonia fleece onesie.

It’s great because it’s not super heavy and restrictive but keeps her toasty. I got her the 18M size so I’m hoping we can get through the winter with it. And I swear I blink and she’s longer. This Patagonia hat was a shower gift and it fits her perfectly and keeps her head nice and warm. I ended up getting it for several expecting moms. I got a ton of questions on IG about these boots. They are so flipping cute but they’re also very warm and most importantly they actually stay on! Her other fleece booties just were not cutting it in the warmth department. These are really soft and cozy but they don’t have a grippy bottom so if you have a walker this pair would probably work better.

It’s getting cold pretty quickly up here in Vermont. I’m still adjusting to that but having the right gear makes the transition a whole lot easier!

I love love my Blundstones! I got them when I was working at REI like 3 years ago and omg! They are my absolute favorite, I wore them everyday then and since have taken them to Colorado in the snow, in the rain and they have held up amazingly. Thinking I’m going to need to get myself that green pair and that Patagonia fleece ??

Have to update here…got the boots and Patagonia leggings and I really love both. So comfortable & chic! The leggings in particular are awesome because they have pockets and are a thicker fabric.

I have to pop in to say I finally pulled the trigger on these during Backcountry’s sale. And they are AMAZING. So comfy out of the box. I did size up 1/2 a size and that worked perfectly for me. I’m 2.5 years out of giving birth so I think my feet eventually went back to almost normal 🙂
