SMALL BUSINESS GIFT IDEAS

*I’m updating my small business gift guide for Small Business Saturday to include a few more favorites. If you’re looking to shop small you can’t go wrong with any of these great businesses. Also check out my RI Gift Guide which features all small businesses as well and my everyday jewelry post with my rings and bracelets all from small businesses.

While all of my 2020 gift guides include picks from small businesses, I also wanted to highlight them in their own guide so it’s easy to shop small this holiday season. This is quite the variety of gift ideas from different small businesses I love, and I posted it now to give ample time for shipping and fulfilling orders. We are working on a separate small business in RI gift guide so look out for that later this week. If you have any gift recommendations from small businesses please feel free to leave them in the comments for others to see!

What to shop

ONE. dehiya beauty

Dehiya beauty might sound familiar because I am constantly talking about the cheek and lip tint in Dreamer I bought over the summer. It’s the most beautiful warm peachy/pink that’s buildable and creamy but without being sticky. It settles really nicely into the skin. I also bought their Gua Shua. Dehiya Beauty is also a Black and woman-owned beauty clean beauty brand.

two. talula skincare

I discovered this female founded, Black-owned skincare brand over the summer and it has become an absolute staple in my skincare arsenal. I also bought the body butter for my mom as a birthday present and she won’t stop talking about it. And I guess she’s getting a refill for Christmas. Specifically formulated for dry skin and eczema it’s an incredible product. A little goes a long way and it smells AMAZING.

THREE. saie beauty

Since the launch of Saie beauty I can honestly say there’s not a product I’ve tried that I didn’t like. Their brow butter is a personal favorite along with the dew balm and really great gloss.

four. culk

I always have to give a shoutout to my hometown friend turned San Franciscan Sam, who started his apparel and accessory brand out of his garage. Culk has everything from graphic tees to sweatshirts and hats. The socks are always a big hit too. The baby onesies are super soft too.

five. haverhill

A woman-owned New England based jewelry company, Haverhill collection is a fifth generation jewelry brand. My personal favorite is the birthstone necklace which you can customize with up to 9 stones. They’re also 14k gold so you never have to take it off. I haven’t taken mine off since I got it months ago. Use code JESS15 for 15% off.

six. dudley stephens

A female-founded and family owned brand, Dudley Stephens makes cozy fleece basics with recycled fabrics. This scarf is a great holiday gift idea (perfect for staying warm during cold weather outdoor exercise).

SMALL BUSINESS GIFT IDEAS

Farmhouse Pottery

A family-owned small business, Farmhouse Pottery is one of my favorite places for ceramics and home goods. You can’t go wrong with anything on their site and you can choose to gift wrap online. I have the countryman utility crock in our kitchen. The silo mugs and pantry candlesticks are on my list for the Vermont house.

House of Noa Mats

Anytime someone steps foot in my kitchen the first thing they say is “where did you get this mat?!” Not only are these anti-fatigue mats so great to stand on but they come in a ton of great looking prints. We also have a play mat which is great for play time and very easy to keep clean. Their Black Friday sale has already started, get up to 25% off no code needed.

Clare Paint

Clare Paint might sound familiar because we’ve talked about the brand quite a few times on the blog. We did an interview with the founder, Nicole, several months ago. This Black, woman-owned brand is changing the game in the paint industry with their curated selection of colors and boutique like experience. We are using Clare in the Vermont house, a combination of Beiging and Timeless and we are absolutely in love with the product. The quality, the shades, and the fact that it’s zero VOC. For Small Business Satrurday Clare is having a sale. Buy 3 or more gallons of paint, get $5 off each gallon with code SHOPSMALL.

Thank you so much for putting this guide together! This holiday season especially I am trying to give gifts from small businesses as much as possible, but it can be harder to find just the right ones. Love that you’ve put this together.

White Elephant for the RI gift guide! Cute women owned shop in EG. Repurposed furniture, new home accessories and great gift items. They’re always looking to support other locals as well.

Barrington Books both Cranston and Barrington locations. Supporting local bookstores has never been more important.

Farmers Daughter and Verde Garden Shop both have great gift shop items but also who doesn’t love to receive greenery as a gift. Local florists and horticultural spots need love too since they’re only seasonal which is already a tough racket.

Another amazing gift guide Jess! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I’d love to humbly shout out my own small business! I make modern concrete home decor such as jewelry dishes, wall hooks, bookends, candleholders, etc. I’m just outside of Boston and ship worldwide : )
