6 Sustainable Underwear Brands

Over the last few months I’ve ordered from several sustainable underwear brands in a quest to find the best eco-friendly bras and underwear. There’s a lot of options out there, so I tried these six brands because they came up most often in my search (or they were frequently recommended by you guys). Wearing undergarments, particularly underwear in eco-friendly and natural fabrics is not only great for the environment but good for your health down there. Here’s my

1. Knickey

Knickey was the first brand I tried and ended up being my favorite. They only make underwear (for now anyway) but they do a dang good job. They have four different styles and several colors to choose from. Their undies are 100% organic cotton, and Knickey stands by their products. They have a first pair guarantee where you can try on one pair of each unique style and size in your order. They’ll also help you recycle your old undies.
My favorite styles: Low Rise Bikini and Mid-Rise Hipster, and High Rise Brief (really great to wear under dresses)
Sizing: I ordered both small and medium. Small is my normal size, medium fits me now at 5 months pregnant.

2. Everlane

I have the ReNew Barely there bra and it’s incredibly comfortable, though I am quickly outgrowing it. It doesn’t have underwire or padding but still feels supportive and the fit is seamless. I think their supima cotton underwear and bras are new because I didn’t notice them until recently but the tank bra and the hipster bottoms both look really comfortable.
Sizing: I ordered a Medium which still fits but probably not for much longer (if I were ordering my normal size-32C- I’d probably go with an XS/S).

3. Boob Design

Thanks to recommendations from many of you I ordered the 24/7 bra (great for nursing/maternity) and these leggings (so soft and comfortable). Boob Design uses all sustainable materials including organic and recycled cotton, recycled wool and lyocell. You can read more about their responsible production here.
Sizing: I ordered Medium but also just ordered it again in a large because I think the Medium will eventually be too tight.

4. Organic Basics

Organic basics uses certified organic cotton and has ethical manufacturing processes. I ordered the triangle bra which is super comfortable but no longer fits so not really a maternity option. I also got the tencel lite briefs and they’re incredibly soft and comfortable.

5. Majamas Earth

Majamas Earth was another one of the recommendations from you guys for maternity/nursing friendly bras. They also have activewear, loungewear and regular intimates. I ordered the organic easy bra which I think is similar to the boob design 24/7 bra but if I had to choose between the two I’d pick boob design.

6. Nude.

I’m including this brand on the list mainly because I tried them and wanted to share my thoughts. It would be my least favorite of all the brands I tried. They use sustainable fabrics and ethical production, but I found the underwear and bras to be the least soft of all the others I tried. I do love their colorways and sets, the bras are better than the underwear, but probably would not purchase again.
