I know that it takes a lot of courage to put your position out there for all to comment on. As a former employee of Planned Parenthood, I can tell you that the front line workers endure a lot of day-to-day stressors (dealing with aggressive protestors is one, also supporting women who seek services can be emotionally draining). I worked for PP for several years, in different states and can attest to the care and advocacy they provide for us all. As long as local, state, and federal politicians hear from US, and know that we support a woman’s right to choose whether or not to have a child AND that we expect them to uphold this right (and that we will be monitoring their voting records), they will listen. Politicians watch daily numbers of constituent contact with their offices. There are several advocacy organizations who help elect pro-choice politicians (Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Emily’s List, NARAL, and others). Money matters, numbers matter (calling/emailing your legislators specifically), and making our presence known matters. Thanks again Jess!

I am in 100% agreement with you pretty much all the time, but I know many are not and that can be quite draining. I appreciate you using your platform to educate and address real issues!
