Caylin’s back from maternity leave! Welcome back Caylin. For anyone who’s new, Caylin helps me pull together our weekly series Click. Read. Love. It’s full of links to all the best things we find on the internet every week. In other news, I’m back on YouTube and I hope you check out this week’s video because there’s a big reveal. I have a lot of really awesome videos coming up on everything from laser hair removal to keeping your house clean with pets.

We got a TON of snow here the last 24 hours (Marin was home which is why I’m posting this at 9pm). Excited to go play in it tomorrow on her 2nd birthday! I can’t believe I have a 2 year old. Time FLIES. Wishing all of you a great weekend.

If you’re looking for something to buy, try, read, share or pin, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of the week…

FYI I created a new page on the blog with all my promo/discount codes here.

A desk for working parents with a kids play station attached went viral. It makes so much sense.

So excited my Follain skincare kit is back for a limited time. For first time customers you can use JESSANNKIRBY15 for an additional 15% off the sale price of the kit! (Jess)

Redemption of the bad mother. Oh and a piece on mom rage and The Lost Daughter.

This article about harassment on Twitter is relevant for all social media and it sent a chill down my spine. (Jess)

So normally I’m not a huge fan of celebrity home reveals…but Gwyneth Paltrow’s home is just beyond gorgeous. (Caylin)

Apparently there’s a scientific reason why breaking up feels so terrible.

These Madewell jeans are perfectly broken in and so comfy. Get an extra 20% off the sale price with code FLASH.

“For decades, costume designer Ceci has overseen the looks on Dear White People, Mixed-ish, Sister, Sister, and more of your favorite series. “I know what I know what I know,” she says of her experience. “You can’t tell me I don’t. I know.”

Just wanted to promote this absolutely amazing interview Jess gave about why she’s leaving Instagram—I feel like she’s too modest to toot her own horn, so I’m going to do it for her. (Caylin)

Have you seen/heard about The Motherhood Identity Project?

It’s a very cool online collection of all different types of stories.

24 movies about Black history that aren’t about slavery.

A thoughtful opinion piece from Tara Westover, author of Educated, on why she is not proof of the American dream.

The nine months of pregnancy ranked from worst to best, lol.

I’m not on Twitter but my friend Emily sent me this excellent thread from Abigail Disney about billionaires (one in particular), and they’re deeply flawed arguments against a wealth tax, among other things. (Jess)

When it’s this cold, pasta feels like a more than once a week meal. This mustard cream rigatoni with lots of kale sounds like a winner.

So hard to think about spring with two feet of snow outside but I love ABLE’s new arrivals especially these clogs and this midi dress. Use code JAK15 for 15% off your purchase.

Two fun things to stream this weekend: Yellowjackets, but with a disclaimer that this show is completely insane. Don’t watch if you can’t handle gore or violence. TBH the best part of the show is the adult storylines. Also, Encanto is delightful. In typical Pixar fashion it’s fun for kids and adults will love it too. You’ll be humming the songs from it for weeks afterward. (Caylin)

“Why black women are divesting from excellence and embracing mediocrity.

For fans of the children’s classic Goodnight Moon, an interesting profile of the author Margaret Wise Brown. Definitely not what you’d expect.

This post from Elise on body image and self love really resonated.

I am new to your blog, but it is excellent. I wanted to say that I really appreciate the move of influencers away from Instagram. I have been personally pulling away (minimal scrolling and deleting the app between use) and it feels like a very healthy thing for me. I can imagine how hard of a decision it is when your livelihood is tied to it. I would much rather go to blogs and click links than through Instagram. I hope all your followers (and more) leave with you. Good luck and thank you for such excellent content.

Thank you so much Laura! That means a lot, truly. I hope so too and honestly it feels like there is a big shift happening right now, for the better.
