How to Style Faux Leather Leggings

MATERNITY Faux Leather leggings | hiking boots | dolman jacket | stripe tunic | scarf

Honestly I was never much of a leggings person, until I discovered faux leather leggings a few years ago. They are so versatile to wear whether you want to dress them down on the weekend with sneakers and a denim jacket or dress them up with boots and a chic blazer. They’re definitely one of my favorite things for fall and winter (I included them in my capsule wardrobe) because they’re so comfortable and stylish, and there’s nothing easier than faux leather leggings and a big cozy sweater. There’s also some great maternity friendly options so you don’t have to give them up when you’re pregnant. Here’s a few of my favorite styles and some ideas for how to wear them.

How To Style Faux Leather Leggings

go casual with sneakers

The easiest and comfiest look with faux leather leggings, just add sneakers and a comfy sweater or oversize tee.

DRESS THEM UP WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Over the knee boots with faux leather leggings and a turtleneck sweater or sweater dress is a super cute outfit for date night or a holiday party.

pick a classic color combo

Pair faux leather leggings with classic shades like grey, camel and dark shades of green.

PLAY WITH PROPORTION

Go oversized on top when you’re styling faux leather leggings. Whether it’s a menswear blazer, oversize sweater or graphic tee and cardigan, something with a little more room on top looks great paired with leggings.

Five Outfits With Faux Leather Leggings

A CHIC BLAZER AND ANKLE BOOTIES

I love this menswear blazer from Everlane (above) with faux leather leggings and ankle booties. For extra coziness add a beanie and cashmere scarf.

MONOCHROME OUTFIT WITH LONG WOOL COAT

Layer up in similar shades like a grey turtleneck sweater and long wool coat. These suede ankle booties (below) are so comfortable (go half size up).

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS WITH FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS

I love the Marc Fisher over the knee boots. A turtleneck sweater is great for fall, holiday parties and all winter long. The Everlane turtleneck sweater dress is also super cozy and a great length with faux leather leggings.

OVERSIZE SCARF AND HIKING BOOTS

For weekends, wear them with hiking boots and cozy layers like this dolman jacket and an oversized scarf. This striped tunic is a really cute maternity option (that works post pregnancy).

SNEAKERS AND A CHUNKY SWEATER WITH FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS

I love the Spanx leggings (size small) with converse or the Sorel sneakers (pictured below). This is a cute oversize Alpaca sweater from & Other Stories (picture below, top middle).
