SELF-CARE GIFT GUIDE

For the first holiday gift guide of the season it only felt right to share some of my favorite things for self-care. This month has felt like an eternity, let alone 2020, and honestly I am already blocking off time during the holidays for some major decompressing. Of course self-care goes beyond baths, sleep masks and CBD but sometimes the seemingly frivolous are just what I need for some relaxation. Here are some of my favorite gifts to give (and receive) for self-care.

The Self-Care Holiday Gift Guide

Chappy Wrap Blanket

There’s nothing cozier than a chappy wrap blanket. I keep these on our furniture to snuggle up with in front of the fire. They are AMAZING quality and can stand up to lots of washing (pet friendly). They have adorable stroller blankets too.

Cozy Slippers

When I asked about the best gifts you’ve given and received, I think L.L. Bean slippers topped out at number one. I can get on board with that as they are seriously so cozy and great quality. I have my eye on this pair to wear in Vermont.

Organic Cotton Robe

I’ve been eyeing Coyuchi’s organic cotton robes because they have amazing reviews. They are also 100% organic cotton grown, Fair Trade, and Benefits 1% For the Planet. For those of you shipping gifts, gift wrapping is available.

Nourish + Co Bath Salts

This small, woman owned clean beauty company is based in Oregon and I love their bath salts. The best part about these is they don’t leave your tub an absolute mess. The muscle soothe is my favorite. JAK readers can get 20% off with code FUJI20.

Make sleeping great again

The ultimate treat yourself for a good night sleep. I started using a silk sleep mask at night a few years ago and it is an absolute game changer. I got my mom hooked too and it’s one of my favorite gifts to give because the recipient is always pleasantly surprised at how much they love it. It’s a small luxury but it’s the best. If you really want to go all out get the pillowcase too, your skin and hair will thank you! Little tip, check Nordstrom Rack for markdowns they have them at up to 50% off.

Indie Lee Mind & Body Gel

My holy grail clean beauty product especially for headaches. When I was pregnant this was my absolute lifesaver and when I feel a migraine coming on I rub this all over my neck and forehead. It’s also great for congestion, rub a little on your chest to help clear up your sinuses. Great gift for new and expecting moms!

Ice Roller

Maybe one of the more slightly random but always beloved holiday gifts. I gave this to a bunch of friends and family last year and everyone loved it. It’s great as a part of your skincare routine but it’s also SO soothing for headaches, hangovers and if you’re feeling stuffed up.

Equilibria CBD Comfort of Calm Gift Set

This is the perfect gift for a CBD newbie especially if they might not be ready to ingest it but want to give it a try. It’s a great value for the products and comes in a really gorgeous pouch. Plus 5% of the sale benefits Black Girl Ventures. The relief cream is seriously incredible. I use it for all my aches and pains, cramps, headaches, you name it. I gave some to my Mom last night to use on her hip and back and she won’t stop talking about how amazing it is, so I guess I know what to get her! Save 30 off sitewide through 11/11 plus an extra 15 off with my code JESSANNKIRBY.

Necessaire Body Wash

Necessaire Body Wash

Basically a spa day in a bottle. Necessaire Body Wash in Eucalyptus is my absolute favorite treat yourself clean beauty product for the shower. It’s so gentle, cruelty-free and a little goes a long way, it gets sudsy without stripping.

Nail Serum

Nail Serum

I received this nail growth serum as a gift from a small, Black woman-owned business and it has absolutely saved my nails. And I can’t believe how quickly my nails grow with it and it has helped strengthen them and improved my cuticles as well. I don’t even remember the last time I had a mani and this stuff has kept my nails looking healthy.

Lord Jones CBD Body Lotion

Lord Jones CBD Body Lotion

I asked Craig if he had any ideas for self-care gifts and other than maple syrup which I said was not really the type of gift idea I was looking for he said “that men’s lotion you gave me.” Lord Jones Body Lotion isn’t men’s but it does have a musky scent. He’s pretty picky about products so that’s high praise.

Diffuser

A really nice looking ceramic diffuser at an even better price (which can be hard to find). I love the packaging too. UpWest also donates 1% of gross sales to charity.

follain candles

Follain Candles

My favorite non-toxic candles made with sustainable vegetable wax and a cotton wick. These have a super subtle but really soothing and refreshing scent. They make great gifts too.

    Hey Jess,

I love your content so much, been following for a few years now! I just wanted to let you know the Woo Me Beauty Nail Serum link takes you to the ice roller on amazon. Not sure if this is just a glitch on my end but thought I’d let you know in case!

And just want to say thank you for always providing such thoughtful content both in the products you promote and in sharing your feelings & opinions! You are a such a breath of honest and transparant fresh air on social media. Sending my best to you and your lovely family!

Ahhh gosh I am so sorry about that. I just fixed it, thank you so much for letting me know. I’m still getting used to this template so I’ve screwed up a few links and I really appreciate you giving me a heads up. And thank you so much for such kind words. I appreciate your support so much! My best to you as well. Jess

Hi Jess! I love this guide and think these ideas are wonderful. However I think, as Meg found before, 2 more of your links don’t lead to the right places. I’m not sure if this is on my end, but just wanted to let you know. For me, the Follain candle link goes to the Indie Lee Mind and Body Gel, and the Lord Jones CBD Body Lotion goes to a Sephora link that says “product not carried.” Thank you so much for this guide!

    Stay safe,
    Sonia

      Hi Sonia

I am SO sorry about that. This template is giving me some issues, I did fix the Follain candle link. For the CBD lotion that link is working for me so hopefully it’s working for you. I’ll try troubleshooting that more not sure why it wouldn’t be working for you. Thanks again for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

That’s so great I really hope it works out for him. Definitely make sure he gives it some time and I highly recommend doing the free call with a dosage specialist after taking it for a little bit.
