Cozy and Sustainable Sweaters for Fall

I had high hopes of getting a blog post up all about how we plan a renovation, but Craig has been working non-stop (literally 14 hour days) at the house in Vermont and I wanted his input before I published it. In my Q&A on stories over the weekend I got a lot of requests for cozy, sustainable sweaters so figured I’d share some favorites today. I jumped the gun and basically brought almost all of my sweaters up to Vermont where they are currently sitting in bins. I wasn’t anticipating being here for the month of October so I’m missing all my cozy knits, luckily I kept a few here. I’m trying not to buy anything until I can see all of my stuff in one place so for now I’m rotating between a few sweaters and hoping I can make it through October without a beanie because I didn’t leave a single winter hat here and honestly sometimes I really question my thought process.

ABLE Rose Tunic

This 100% organic cotton tunic sweater (pictured above) is a great sweater for fall, especially for those warmer days when you want to wear something cozy but also not sweat your butt off. It’s the perfect length to wear with leggings and it’s so comfortable. It definitely runs slightly oversized so I’d say get your true size (it’s supposed to fit a little big). I’m wearing a small.

Tradlands Cotton Fisherman

The cotton fisherman sweater below is actually a few years old from L.L. Bean (it’s a mens small) but I also wanted to share this gorgeous style from Tradlands, responsibly sourced and manufactured. I have the alpaca version of their fisherman sweater from last winter and it’s a beautiful sweater. Really well made too.

Naadam Cable Knit Sleeve Hoodie

The sweater you’ve seen me wearing in my IG Stories non-stop. I couldn’t find any photos of me wearing it because I’m just not shooting much these days but I have been living in this sweater. It’s super warm and cozy, incredibly soft and the color is beautiful. I love the button detail too. I would say it runs pretty true to size maybe slightly big. I got a small and it’s perfectly slouchy.

Outerknown Jupiter Cashmere Sweater

I discovered Outerknown somewhat recently and I love the brand. They have some really gorgeous sweaters for fall and winter. This relaxed Donegal cashmere sweater in camel is very high on my sweater wish list.

Hatch Jo Sweater

Hatch brought back the Jo sweater! This big cozy knit sold out pretty fast last year, not surprisingly, and they brought it back in two beautiful new colors. I’m partial to the oatmeal. It’s maternity so it runs big (I’m wearing a size 1 in the photo above). It’s thick and very warm. I actually emailed to ask them about their sustainability efforts last year and they sent me a ton of great information that I now can’t find, so once I dig up the email I’ll share that information.

State Cashmere Ballet Neck Sweater

I love the look of ribbed cashmere especially in a camel color. This ballet neck sweater is so chic and reminds me of this white and warren cardigan I have. They actually make a cardigan style as well that’s VERY similar to the one I have from White and Warren.
